Agricultural Specialist at the U.S. Mission to EU


Functie

Job holder s relied upon as an expert in animal and/or plant health issues ranging in complexity from a single country such as Belgium and to regional responsibility that encompass many different countries within the Europe Region. These issues require a detailed understanding of the export and import regulations between countries and the U.S. with a focus on sanitary and phytosanitary issues.

Jouw profiel

EDUCATION: Veterinary degree or a master’s degree in agriculture, biology, entomology, veterinary science, plant pathology, horticulture, zootechnics, or related.

EXPERIENCE: 6 years experience in designing, developing, directing, or evaluating agricultural health programs, or in dealing with scientific matters.

LANGUAGE: Fluency in English and working knowledge in one other European language.

  • Experimenten uitvoeren volgens het protocol (testen van teelten, fytosanitaire producten, waterzuiveringsinstallaties, ...)
    Resultaten analyseren
  • Procedures, analyseverslagen, technische documenten voor interne of externe communicatie opstellen
  • Acties bepalen op basis van technische dossiers, technologische evoluties of reglementen
    Een planning opmaken voor het project of de studie
  • Technisch-economische oplossingen bepalen (hervatting van exploitatie, omschakeling, ...) aangepast aan de problemen van een productiesite (milieu, vervuiling, opbrengst, ...)
  • Reactie- of ontwikkelingsstoringen herkennen (groeivertraging, ...)
    Correctieve maatregelen toepassen (verandering van productengamma, ...)
